I insist on good presentation skills at all times. If you are creating a PowerPoint slide, you can do so much of things to enhance the presentation of your work, but if you are working on a Word document, there is nothing much you can do about it.
However still, applying a border to the document may be of a little help. What do you think? If you agree with me, here’s how you can apply beautiful borders to your Word document.
To apply a border, open your document and click on Page Layout—> Page Bordersbutton.
Just as you click it, a Page Borders and Shading window will open up. In the Page Border tab select the type of border you would like to apply under the settings section. In the style, Color, Width and Art, you can customize the looks and appearance of your borders.
Just mix and match some designs and have a look at the preview section. Once you are done designing the border, select whether you want the border in the entire document or some particular pages and click on OK button.
If you would like to broaden or narrow the margins, click on the option button to open the Page Borders and Shading Option page. Here, you can adjust the margins and control if you want to surround the header and footer area.
If you are adjusting the margins, it’s highly recommended, you have a look at the print preview if you are planning to print the document. There may be instances where your margins are not inside the printable area of the page.
Though borders are easy to apply, and they give a nice touch up to the document but please don’t apply them unnecessarily. There may be times where these borders can impress the viewers but there are some who tend to get irritated with some extra pomp and show. Just be careful.
